Summary
The distalization of the lateral group of the maxillary teeth which supported by orthodontic miniscrews is a quite common procedure during orthodontic treatment. The article presents for thefirst time an analysis of biomechanics of distalization of lateral group of the teeth beingsupported by infrazygomatic miniscrew and miniscrew placed on the pyramidal processof the palatine bone applied by the method of mathematical modelling. In the mathematicalsimulation we used parameters of periodontium, bone tissue, geometric dimension of teeth andbracket system. The distribution of stresses and deformations in the area of periodontal ligamentsand teeth was obtained, the optimal force of activation of orthodontic pull for distalization to theinfrazygomatic miniscrew (150–170 g) and miniscrew on the pyramidal process of the palatinebone (240 g) was determined. The results obtained are statistically processed and applied inclinical practice.

Keywords: infrazygomatic crest (IZC), pyramidal process of the palatine bone, orthodonticminiscrews, mathematical modelling, medial displacement of buccal segments of teeth, infrazygomatic miniscrew.
