Summary
The aim of the work was to study the anti-inflammatory effect of a new promising dental product (DP) for mouthwash containing betulin.
Material and methods. The object of the study was a dental agent for topical application at a dose of 3.7 ml/kg containing betulin.
The experiment to determine the anti-alternative activity of DP was carried out on rats. The anti-exudative activity of DP was studied on the model of 1% formalin edema of mice paws. Antioxidant activity was investigated using a model of β-carotene degradation by hydrogen peroxide in DMCO-H2O2 system at 50℃ with recording of optical density drop. The membrane-stabilizing activity of DP was determined under the conditions of in vitro experiments using 1% suspension of washed human erythrocytes as an object of study.
Results and conclusions. On the basis of the data obtained during in vivo experiments it was established that the investigated stomatological agent containing betulin has anti-alternative and antiexudative effect and anti-inflammatory effect. In in vivo experiments the studied remedy showed more pronounced antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing activity in comparison with its foreign analogue.

Keywords: dental remedy, periodontal diseases, anti-inflammatory effect, antialterative and antiexudative effect.
