Summary
In prosthetics of aesthetically important areas as well as in complex clinical situations, it is necessary to use a provisional restoration technique.
The aim of the study was to investigate the clinical application of a modified implant-supported provisional restoration and the effect of the design on the soft tissues around the implant.
Material and Methods. The study included 150 patients with secondary adentia divided into 3 groups. In the 1st group (comparison) the temporary prototype crown was not used in prosthetics; in the 2nd group the temporary prototype crown made by analog method was used; in the 3rd group the temporary prototype crown made by Cad/Cam technology in the modification proposed by the author was used.
Results and discussion. It has been established that in the three studied groups of patients with a defect in the frontal area of the dental row the best results of the mucosa parameters around the implants after the treatment were revealed in the 3rd group, in which the proposed modified multicomponent individual temporary prosthetic crown was used. The revealed advantages in the treatment of the proposed prototype crown are given.
Conclusion. The use of the proposed temporary implant-supported crown made by CAD/CAM technology, which allows to individualize the construction, position it as accurately as possible, excluding loads, can be recommended for application in the practice of orthopedic dentistry in implant treatment of patients.
